Clemson, SC – Former Clemson All-Americans Jonathan Byrd and Lucas Glover both finished in the top 30 of the British Open at Carnoustie Golf Links in Scotland on Sunday. Byrd finished 23rd with a score of 285, while Glover finished 27th with a score of 286.
Byrd had rounds of 73-72-70-70 in scoring one over par over the par 72 course. Byrd won $73,112 with the #23 finish, the best finish ever by a Clemson golfer at the British Open. Byrd now has a top 25 finish at the four majors, The Masters, US Open, PGA and British Open. He is the first former Clemson golfer to record a top 25 finish in all four majors.
Glover had rounds of 71-72-70-73 for his 286 total. Glover won $57,952 and is now over $1.2 million for the year. Byrd is now over $1.4 million.
Former Tiger D.J. Trahan finished 28th the Milwaukee Classic on the PGA Tour on Sunday. Trahan won $24,933 for his weekend of work. He has now made the cut in seven of his last eight PGA Tour events.
