CLEMSON, S.C. – Coaches and student-athletes around the Atlantic Coast Conference are gearing up for basketball season, which is just over a month away. Clemson head coach Amanda Butler and senior Danielle Edwards head to Charlotte, N.C. on Tuesday to participate in the ACC Tipoff, ahead of the 2018-19 season.
Edwards is no stranger to the event, having represented Clemson the past two seasons at the conference meeting. This will be the first ACC Tipoff for Butler, who was named the seventh head coach in Clemson program history in April.
The Clemson duo will meet with members of the local and national media at the annual event held at the Marriott – Le Méridien. Fans are invited to follow along on ACC Network Extra from 1-1:20 p.m. to hear from Butler and Edwards in a Q&A session.
The entire day can be followed on the Clemson women’s basketball social accounts under @ClemsonWBB.
Butler enters her first year at the helm of the Tigers after spending the past 10 seasons at the University of Florida, where she compiled a 190-136 record and coached her teams to eight postseason appearances.
Edwards, one of two returning starters from a season ago, takes the court as a senior leader on this year’s Clemson team. The point guard ranked first on the 2017-18 team in steals (78) and assists (69) and averaged 9.2 points per game. Edwards was the lone Tiger to start all 30 games during the 2017-18 campaign.
Clemson kicks of the 2018-19 season on Nov. 8 when it hosts Wofford for the season opener at 7 p.m. Season tickets are on sale now!
