Bowl Ticket Donation Organized for Disadvantaged Children

Dec. 14, 2005

We are extremely excited that our Clemson Tigers are headed to the 2005 Champs Sports Bowl in Orlando on December 27th to play Colorado. We have a great opportunity to continue our rich Bowl tradition by showing our support for Head Coach Tommy Bowden and the football team in Orlando. Our entire Athletic Department is certainly on the move and we are making strides in growing our Total Sports Program.

This past year we have made significant progress in many areas of our Athletic Department. Not only has our football team earned its 28th Bowl appearance, but we have experienced much progress and success in several areas. Trevor Adair and the men’s soccer team competed for a National Championship in the Final Four. All of our fall sports competed vigorously and we anticipate a very exciting and competitive spring sports schedule. Presently, our Men’s Basketball team is undefeated and showing signs of a very promising season. Our fund-raising for the WestZone is making solid progress, which is essential to move the project forward.

We need our fans to make every effort to attend the Champs Sports Bowl and support our Tigers in Orlando. Certainly, Orlando is a great family destination with the attractions of Disney properties, Universal Studios, Sea World and many other opportunities.

I think it is important to keep in mind that in the Bowl selection process and match-ups, fan participation is a big consideration. There is no doubt Clemson has a rich tradition and history of supporting Bowl games and the Tigers with tremendous fan spirit. It is important that our fans support this Bowl opportunity, as it is another step we must take to position our program for the future. Your support is critical and selling the allotted number of tickets, supporting our seniors and making the Champs Sports Bowl a success is critical to the Champs Sports Bowl, as well as our program. Therefore, if you cannot attend the Champs Sports Bowl, the Clemson Ticket Office can provide you an opportunity to demonstrate your support by participating in purchasing tickets that will benefit disadvantaged children in the Orlando area.

The Clemson University Athletic Department is working in conjunction with the FCSports Foundation to provide tickets for organizations that benefit or support economically disadvantaged children in Central Florida.

The Foundation provides a charitable contribution for the face value of the donated tickets. IPTAY donors that choose to participate in the program through the Clemson Athletic Ticket Office will receive a charitable contribution from the FCSports Foundation.

You can purchase tickets or donate tickets by calling the Athletic Ticket Office (1-800-253-6766), by returning a Champs Sports Bowl Ticket Application to the Athletic Ticket Office, or online.
