BI-LO and Clemson Athletics Host Winners of Tailgate with the Top Tigers Promotion

Oct. 20, 2011

On Saturday, October 8, as the Tigers played host to Boston College on the football field, BI-LO and Clemson Athletics hosted Suzanne Rampey and Butch Swygert, winners of the BI-LO Tailgate with the Top Tigers Promotion.

Rampey, from Old Fort, NC, and Swygert, from Lexington, SC, received a once in a lifetime experience thanks to BI-LO. Each winner was able to bring four guests, and their experience started with a behind the scenes tour of the WestZone facility. From there, they took photos at the Rock while their names flashed on Pawvision. They then rubbed the Rock and ran down the hill onto the field where they took photos with Coach Swinney’s headset.

Rampey and Swygert watched the Tiger Walk from the balcony of the fourth level in the WestZone facility. The Tiger paid them a special visit before they left to be interviewed on the Tiger Tailgate Show. After their interviews, they were able to relax in the suite where they would be enjoying the game.

They were then escorted back down to the field where they spent time watching the pregame festivities and hanging out with Head Baseball Coach Jack Leggett. After the Tigers ran down the hill, Rampey and Swygert returned to their suite where they enjoyed watching the Tigers get out to an early lead. In the first quarter, they had visits from Head Men’s Basketball Coach Brad Brownell and Head Men’s Soccer Coach Mike Noonan.

” `Tailgating with the Top Tigers’ was an experience of a lifetime!!! I’ll never forget the excitement of being on the field prior to the game,” said Butch Swygert. “Getting to meet Coach Brownell, Coach Leggett and Coach Noonan was awesome. I really appreciate BI-LO partnering with Clemson to provide this amazing opportunity to Clemson fans.”

At halftime, Rampey and Swygert were introduced on the field in front of 78,000 of their closest friends. They enjoyed the second half back up in the suite and were thrilled to get to see Clemson improve to 6-0 on the season. They both left the game with goodie bags compliments of Clemson and BI-LO.

“This was a once in a lifetime experience for a Clemson fan,” said Suzanne Rampey. “I cannot express how wonderful all of the experiences were, especially being on the field when the Tigers ran down the hill! Thank you BI-LO and Clemson!”
