Bell Named Indoor All-American for Tiger Men’s Team

Clemson, SC – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its list of indoor All-Americans on Tuesday afternoon. Clemson’s men’s program had four student-athletes earn All-America certificates, headlined of course by sophomore Jason Bell, Ryan Koontz also were named All-Americans for the indoor season.

Bell gained his spot by virtue of being one of the top eight American finishers in the triple jump. It marked the first All-America honor indoors for the native of Warner Robins, GA. It also marked the first time Clemson has had an All-American in the indoor triple jump. He hit a mark of 49’9″ in the prelims and was 10th overall. Bell was an outdoor All-American in 2006 as a junior.

Padgett earned his second All-America honor as a Tiger after winning the 60m dash with a time of 6.56 seconds. He was an outdoor All-American in the 100m last season. Ford finished third in the 60m dash, earning his first certificate. Koontz placed seventh in the heptathlon, which was also his first All-America honor indoors.
