Clemson Head Baseball Coach Jack Leggett announced the signing of 13 players that have already joined the Tiger squad and will be eligible to play for the Tigers in 2004. The list includes first baseman Andy D’Alessio (Naples, FL), who was drafted in the 10th round by the Reds in 2003 and lefthander/outfielder Tony Sipp (Moss Point, MS), who was drafted by the White Sox in the 33rd round in 2002.
“We are very excited about our incoming players,” stated Leggett. “We have filled our needs and have some exceptional players who will make excellent contributions to our team. Several of them will be in the mix this year.”
Among the position players in the class are outfielders Justin Barefoot (Benson, NC) and Jesse Ferguson (Redmond, WA), first baseman/outfieder Tyler Colvin (North Augusta, SC), catchers Doug Hogan (Columbia, SC; brother of senior righthander Patrick Hogan) and Lou Santangelo (Colts Neck, NJ; transfer from Seton Hall University), utility player Travis Storrer (Mount Vernon, WA), and third baseman Bryan Yates (Sammamish, WA).
The pitchers include lefthander Aaron Eubanks (Moultrie, GA) and righthanders Stephen Faris (Richmond, VA), Chris Howard (Fort Wayne, IN), and P.J. Zocchi (Bronx, NY).
