Barnett Named to All-ACC Academic Outdoor Team

CLEMSON, S.C. — Grace Barnett was Clemson’s lone representative on the 2015 All-ACC Academic Outdoor Track & Field Team, announced Tuesday by the conference office. Barnett, an elementary education major, boasts one of Clemson’s highest cumulative grade point averages. It gave Barnett a third such honor in 2014-15, as she was previously a member of the All-ACC Academic Team for cross country and indoor track.

Barnett advanced to the NCAA East Preliminary Round in the 1500 meters. During the qualifying round at the ACC Championships, she posted a personal best in the event with a time of 4:20.24. She went on to finish eighth in the ACC, and 21^st out of 48 competitors at the East Prelims.

To be eligible for consideration to the All-ACC Academic Outdoor Team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the spring semester and maintained a 3.00 grade point average over her academic career.
