Once again, Clemson Athletics is encouraging all Tiger fans to show their spirit and wear orange for the One Clemson…Solid Orange event that takes place on Thursday, October 16th as Head Coach Chris Ip’s men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams play host to the South Carolina Gamecocks at 3:00 PM in McHugh Natatorium at Fike Recreation Center. Admission to the meet is free to all fans. Clemson is currently 4-0 in One Clemson…Solid Orange events.
The first 500 fans wearing orange to the meet will receive a free One Clemson…Solid Orange …It’s About Pride t-shirt. Representatives of Tiger Pep Band, cheerleaders, Rally Cats, the Tiger and Tiger Cub mascots and Central Spirit will be on hand to welcome fans to the electric atmosphere.
One event per sport each year will be designated One Clemson…Solid Orange Day. The goal is produce a sell-out crowd, recognize University wide accomplishments, promote all sports and show Clemson spirit in a first class manner. One Clemson…Solid Orange is the advancement of the principle adopted by the University and used by Athletics to create significant awareness of the One Clemson…Solid Orange principle which promotes unity, spirit and oneness with the Clemson Family.
Last week, the Athletic Department announced that $ 2,609.50 were raised at the most recent One Clemson…Solid Orange athletic event as Trevor Adair’s men’s soccer team posted a 1-0 victory over the University of South Carolina Sunday afternoon at Historic Riggs Field. The money will be directed to a One Clemson…Solid Orange Academic Enhancement Fund.
