This past weekend, the Clemson men’s soccer team won their 14th ACC Tournament Championship. Junior Paul Clowes was named the Tournament MVP after scoring the game-tying goal with just three seconds left in regulation in the championship game against Louisville and assisting on both Ara Amirkhanian’s golden goal against the Cardinals and Bobby Belair’s game-tying goal versus Notre Dame in the semifinals.
“As a team, we always believe that we can win games,” Clowes said. “We are determined and we show right until the end. With our team a lot of time the goal scorer is coincidental, and today it was my turn.”
With the tournament championship the Tigers secured the 7th national seed and received a first round bye in the NCAA Tournament. Clemson will host the winner of FGCU and Coastal Carolina on Nov. 23 at 7 p.m. at Historic Riggs Field.
