AgSouth Homegrown Athlete of the Week – Ani Mijacika

Ani Mijacika, Women’s Tennis, Sophomore, Makarska, Croatia

Mijacika reached the singles final of the Riviera/ITA All-American Championship tournament in Pacific Palisades, CA last weekend. The sophomore from Makarska, Croatia is the first player in Clemson history to reach the final round of the event, which began in 1983.

Mijacika fell to ninth-ranked Suzi Babos of California, the tournament’s defending champion, in three sets (7-5, 2-6, 6-2) in the final. En route to the final, Mijacika defeated Georgia Tech’s Whitney McCray in the round of 16, Baylor’s Zuzana Zemenova in the quarterfinal round and the Yellow Jackets’ Maya Johansson in the semifinal.
