Adeleye Earns Final ACC Player-of-the-Week Nod

CLEMSON, SC – Clemson senior Sandra Adeleye has been named the Volleyball Co-Player-of-the-Week by the ACC for the final week of the regular season, ending Nov. 23. It is the third career weekly honor for Adeleye, who also took home All-ACC honors for the fourth time in as many seasons, becoming the first Clemson player ever to achieve that feat.

Adeleye posted 18 kills against just two errors in 32 attacks for a .500 hitting percentage in a 3-0 win against Georgia Tech last Tuesday. The Katy, TX native also added four blocks in the match for an average of 6.67 points per set.

Adeleye closed her career with 1,493 kills, a .331 hitting percentage and 119 blocks. For her career, she scored a patriotic 1776.0 points, which includes blocking, kills, and aces. She ranks in the top ten in Clemson history in kills, kills per set, hitting percentage, total blocking, and block assists.

She shares her honor with Sareea Freeman of Florida State, who had 11 kills in four sets for Florida State, who clinched the ACC title.

Clemson finished the season 21-10 overall and tied for fourth in the ACC at 12-8, but was not selected for NCAA play. It was Clemson’s 24th 20-win season in school history, and the 13th in 20 years under head coach Jolene Jordan Hoover.
