Meet 7: Clemson at Pittsburgh


CLEMSON, S.C. – The 14th-ranked Clemson Gymnastics team (2-4, 1-2 ACC, 196.475 average) travels to No. 34 Pittsburgh (1-7, 0-4 ACC, 195.100 average) to take on the Panthers at 4 p.m. Sunday in Fitzgerald Field House. The meet will air on ACC Network and the ESPN App. Clemson and Pitt will meet twice in a five-day span, with the Panthers making the return trip to Littlejohn Coliseum on Feb. 20.

Clemson and Pitt have matched up six times previously, with the Tigers holding a 6-0 advantage in all meets and 4-0 lead in duals.

STEADY CLIMB

  • In its first season under Co-Head Coaches Justin Howell and Liz Crandall-Howell, Clemson has already taken big strides.
  • Clemson has moved up to 14th in scoring average (196.475), it’s highest rank in the program’s history.
  • Clemson’s 20-spot jump on bars is the biggest jump nationally and its 0.209-point improvement (48.995 > 49.204) is second-best nationally
  • Clemson’s 17-spot jump on beam is second-best nationally and its 0.166-point improvement is fourth-best nationally
  • In 2026, 94 of 144 (65.2%) of routines have been a 9.800 or above
  • Clemson has surpassed 196.500 three times in 2026 in six meets after doing so five times in its first 25 meets.
  • Through six meets, Clemson has its highest average score (196.475), ranking (14) and total team score of any season (197.025)

COMPETING WITH THE BEST

  • Five of Clemson’s six meets so far have come against Top-25 opponents.
  • So far in 2026, Clemson has competed against No. 8 Alabama, No. 9 Stanford, No. 12 UNC, No. 20 Cal and No. 21 NC State.

SO FAR, SO GOOD

  • Brie Clark has won floor in each of her six appearances in 2026 and has won beam in both road meets. She has 18 career floor and five beam event wins at Clemson
  • Clark ranks fourth in the nation in floor with a 9.925 average. She has a 9.900 or higher in all six meets this season.
  • Clark was named ACC Specialist of the Week on Jan. 27.
  • Ella Cesario became the first Tiger to compete in the all-around since 2024 when she earned a 39.275 against Stanford. Cesario scored a 9.800 or higher on all four events against UNC Friday to win the all-around with a 39.450.
  • Tara Walsh has competed in 15 events in 2026, with 10 of those scored a 9.850 or higher, including the 9.875s on floor, vault and beam.
  • Emma Malewski made her collegiate debut at NC State on bars in working back from an injury suffered two weeks prior and scored a 9.825 on bars at No. 9 Stanford.

CLEMSON LOVES GYMNASTICS

  • Clemson is ranked 8th in the nation in 2026 with 7,324 fans per meet. Through Week 6, Clemson’s 29,297 fans leads the nation in total attendance.
  • Clemson welcomed its 100,000th fan in just its 15th-ever meet (1/30 vs UNC).
  • Clemson has ranked in the top ten in attendance nationally in each of its first two seasons in Littlejohn Coliseum with 41,843 fans in 2025 (8,368 per meet – 8th nationally); 42,542 fans in 2024 (8,508 per meet – 8th nationally)
