GREENSBORO, N.C. – Clemson’s Maxienne White registered her third career double-double in the Tigers’ win on Sunday, earning Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors. She is the first Lady Tiger since Lakeia Stokes in the 2003-04 season to be receive the weekly award.
White scored a team-high 23 points and pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds (nine offensive) as Clemson (4-6) picked up its fourth win it its last five games on Sunday with a 94-66 victory over Wagner. White’s totals were both career highs, and marked the third double-double of her career, all of which have come this season. The Pensacola, Fla., sophomore also recorded four steals and an assist in the game, and was 9-for-14 (64.3 percent) from the floor. White, a forward, also had a solid day at the free throw line, converting five of her six chances.
The Player of the Week award is the first of White’s career.
