WTEN: No. 30 Tigers Fall 4-0 to No. 11 NC State

RALEIGH, N.C. – No. 30 Clemson (13-7, 3-5 ACC) fell to No. 11 NC State (10-5, 5-2 ACC), 4-0 on Friday, Mar. 28 at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center in Raleigh, N.C.

“Tough match today – NC State is a well-coached and professional team – they stepped up in big points across the board, which swung a lot of today’s match. I would love to see our group’s really gritty response on Sunday. We have different people stepping up in different matches, and we need everyone to play their toughest tennis on Sunday.”

NC State took an early lead in doubles, claiming the point with wins on courts three and two. On court one, the No. 80-ranked duo Gaia Parravicini and Amelie Smejkalova played out and defeated the No. 2-ranked duo Maddy Zampardo and Gabrielle Broadfoot 6-4.

No. 124 Sophia Hatton led her match with No. 27 Michaela Laki, 6-4, 3-4, when matches were suspended after NC State took wins on courts six, four, and two in singles. On courts three and five, Annabelle Davis was level with No. 99 Maddy Zompardo, 6-2, 2-6, and Artemis Aslanisvili led Kristina Paskauskas, 6-4, 2-4, respectively.

Up next, No. 30 Clemson heads to No. 37 Wake Forest for a Sunday matinee at noon at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex on March 30.
