CLEMSON, S.C. — Program Director Mark Elliott was named the Southeast Region Men’s Coach of the Year by the USTFCCCA, the organization announced on Thursday. Elliott coached the Tigers to their first ACC Championship since 2004 and sent six entries to the NCAA National Championship Meet.
The Tigers entered the final day of competition at the ACC Championship Meet in 10th place, and battled all the way back to claim the title by a single point. Elliott’s squad had four ACC Champions crowned on the final day.
Elliott just wrapped up his 10th season as Clemson’s program director, and added the 2023 men’s ACC outdoor championship to his 2015 women’s conference title. 2023 marks his first time winning the outdoor Southeast Region Men’s Coach of the Year award, however he earned that recognition for the indoor women’s season in 2015.
