Young Qualifies for US Amateur

CLEMSON, SC – Clemson incoming freshman Carson Young won the US Amateur qualifier at Columbia Country Club in Blythewood, SC on Wednesday.  Young, who will enroll at Clemson in a month, had rounds of 69 and 66 in recording the top 36-hole score among the 94 competitors.

Clemson assistant golf coach Jordan Byrd lost in a playoff for one of the four spots available from the site, but he will be second alternate from the site.

The US Amateur will be held in Brookline, MA August 12-18.
