Winston-Salem, NC – The Clemson women’s track & field team stands in 10th place after two days of competition at the ACC Outdoor Championships from the Wake Forest campus. Five Lady Tigers qualified for Saturday’s finals in their respective events, while three posted regional-qualifying marks.

In the 100m, graduate Randi Hinton posted a time of 11.90 to finish sixth in the prelims. That will earn her a spot in Saturday’s 2:30 final. Hinton also competed in the 200m but will not be in that final. In the 800m, Patrice McMillan was eighth in the prelims with a personal best of 2:11.17. The final of that event will be at 2:45 on Saturday.

In the high hurdles, both Renata Miyamoto qualified regionally and for Saturday’s final. Hardy was seventh in the prelims with a time of 13.75, while Miyamoto was eighth at 13.87. Both competitors had already qualified regionally in a previous meet.

In the 400m hurdles, Tia Perry was ninth and just missed qualifying for the finals of that event.

Tonya Nwankwo was Clemson’s top performer in the long jump with a mark of 17’6.75″. In the shot put, Della Clark did not score but was Clemson’s top performer with a throw of 43’1.5″. She earned All-ACC honors Thursday in the hammer throw.

In the 3000m steeplechase, Jenny Barton finished 10th and made school history by becoming the first Lady Tiger ever to record a time under 11 minutes in the event. She posted a time of 10:59.98 and just missed scoring for Clemson.

The Lady Tigers return to action on Saturday to wrap up competition at this year’s ACC Outdoor meet. The first event for Clemson will be the javelin throw at 10:00 AM.
