Becca Brinker has been named director of rowing operations at Clemson, according to head coach Susie Lueck. Brinker comes to Clemson after spending the past season as an undergraduate rowing coach at Ohio State. A native of Cincinnati, OH, Brinker’s primary responsibilities at Clemson will be coordinating team travel and recruitment organization.
“Becca is responsible, hardworking, self-motivated, and a team player,” Lueck said. “She is willing to serve and work as a key ingredient within our coaching staff.”
Brinker spent four years as a successful member of Ohio State’s rowing team. She competed with the fours on the varsity squad, where she helped the 2002 boat to a Big Ten title and Regional Championship. In 2003, Brinker led the varsity 4+ to another Regional Championship and fourth-place finish at the NCAA Rowing Championships, which tied a program best. She also was a three-time OSU Scholar Athlete and Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
As a coach, Brinker guided the Buckeyes’ second novice 8+ to a runner-up finish at the Big Ten Championships and first-place finish at the Aramark South/Central Sprints in the spring of 2005.
Brinker earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with special emphasis in Human Resources Management from Ohio State University in 2005.
