Washington Leads Tigers Past UNF, 84-72

Clemson, S.C. – Clemson guard Delicia Washington scored a season-high 23 points and added 11 rebounds as she recorded her second double-double of the season for the Tigers as they improved to 3-2 after an 84-72 win over the University of North Florida (4-2) on Wednesday afternoon inside Littlejohn Coliseum. The Tigers outscored the Ospreys 28-14 in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.

Four Tigers finished in double figures as Gabby Elliott had 16 points, while Amari Robinson and KiKi Lewis each had 14 to give Clemson the win. Clemson shot over 50 percent from the floor, making 32-of-63 shots. 

Washington started hot and led the Tigers in first-half points with nine on 4-of-8 shooting from the floor. Amari Robinson chipped in seven points of her own as Clemson held a narrow 37-36 lead heading into halftime. 

The third quarter saw UNF take the lead, but the Tigers stormed back in the fourth, shooting 9-15 from the field, including Elliott’s dagger three-pointer to put Clemson up eight with just under two minutes remaining. Washington notched eight fourth-quarter points on her way to her season-high scoring output. Her 11 rebounds were also a game-high, as Clemson controlled the glass 40-22. 

Clemson’s dominant fourth quarter was highlighted by four consecutive made field goals, as well as a 9-10 free throw performance that ultimately put the game well out of reach. 

Next, the Tigers will take the floor at Littlejohn Coliseum to take on Mount St. Mary’s on Sunday, Nov. 28. Tip-off will be at 2 p.m., and the match will stream on ACCNX.
