Adams, Edgerson Named ACC Performers of the Week for Indoor Track & Field

Jan. 11, 2011

CLEMSON, SC – Clemson athletes Spencer Adams and Jasmine Edgerson were named ACC Performers of the Week for indoor track & field, according to the conference office on Tuesday. Both athletes rank among the national leaders in their respective events early in the 2011 season.

Adams (Charlotte, NC) was runner-up in the men’s 60 hurdles, but had the top preliminary time on Friday after clocking a 7.90. His time was just a tenth of a second off his personal best, despite the fact that he had only competed with the track team for a few practices following the conclusion of the 2010 football season. Adams, a 2010 indoor All-American in the 60 hurdles, doubles as a cornerback for Dabo Swinney’s Tigers. His time ranks in a tie for fourth in the nation according to the Track & Field Results Reporting System (TFRRS).

Edgerson (Marietta, GA) won the 60 dash and was third place in the 60 hurdles, with personal bests in both events. She clocked a 7.37, third-best in Clemson history, to run away with the 60 dash title on Friday. She then followed with a time of 8.40 in the hurdles, sixth-best in Clemson women’s history. Her 60 dash time is No. 3 in the nation according to TFRRS, while her hurdles time is No. 5. Edgerson was a two-time All-American and ACC champion last season in the relays.
