WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) – Natasha Anderson scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds as No. 14 Clemson routed Wake Forest 66-38 Thursday.
The Tigers (21-5, 11-5 Atlantic Coast Conference) never trailed in the game and held the Demon Deacons to just 23 percent shooting. Clemson also outrebounded Wake Forest (7-18, 3-12) 52-42 and forced 20 turnovers.
Joanie Mungro scored a career-high 12 points for Clemson while Nikki Blassingame added nine points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
No Wake Forest player reached double figures in scoring, but Emon McMillan led the team with nine points.
Clemson took a 25-13 lead at halftime despite 10-of-34 shooting from the field or 29 percent. Neither team made a 3-pointer in the first half, and Wake Forest’s Heidi Coleman was the only player for either team to hit a 3 in the second half.
The Tigers improved to 16-of-35 shooting in the second half and outscored Wake Forest 41-25.
