With one game under our belts, IPTAY and the game management staff are able to evaluate the issues that occurred in the parking lots in hopes of correcting before Saturday and the rest of the season.
IPTAY donors:
If you have been assigned a placard, please make certain that you bring the placard that is for GAME #2. You will be denied entry into the lot if you don’t have the correct pass for this week’s game.
Excessive tailgating continues to be a problem as it limits our ability to park cars. The IPTAY placard that you have been assigned is for a parking space. We want everyone to enjoy the day and have a small tailgate but large tents, tables, chairs and other items that extend more than 5 feet behind each vehicle are prohibited. Our ability to police this issue is limited but we ask that you be responsible and courteous to others so that we don’t have to follow the steps taken by other schools and do away with tents and open our lots only a few hours before every game.
Parking lots have not been over-allocated. The issue is with how the cars are parked and steps are being taken with our event staff to correct this before Saturday.
Motor home area parking is located at the front of the indoor track complex. This lot will be filled first before any motor homes are allowed to go behind the outdoor track into the overflow area.
General Public/Non-placard/Visiting Fans:
If you do not have a placard then you are encouraged to make use of the YMCA located off of Hwy. 93 before you cross the bridge into Pickens County. This is a FREE parking lot and is the only parking lot available to non-placard cars on that side of campus.
If you are entering campus off of Hwy 76 from Anderson, limited parking is available along various lots off of Perimeter Rd. Law enforcement will direct you into the next available parking lot. Fans are also encouraged to follow Hwy 76 to the Hwy 93 exit and take a left towards campus. When you take a left onto Hwy 93 you can enter into the Douthit Hills area near the Clemson House. Street parking along this area of University housing is available if you don’t have a placard.
Car pooling is encouraged due to our limited space for non-placard parking.
If we are courteous of our neighbors and respectful of our beautiful campus then hopefully we can avoid the issues of Monday night and continue to have a great season in our parking lots.
