Clemson Notes:
- The Tigers enter Head Coach Audra Smith’s third season with eight returning letterwinners, including two starters, and six newcomers.
- Clemson’s roster is once again one of the youngest in the country, with one junior, seven sophomores and six freshmen.
- Clemson’s roster features the most underclassmen in the ACC (13).
- The Tigers are one of three teams in the ACC this season without a senior (Louisville and Pittsburgh).
- In 2014-15, the Tigers went 9-21 overall, including an 8-5 record in regular season nonconference games.
- Including the Tigers’ two contests this weekend, Clemson is set to play five in-state schools in non-conference play this season (Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina, South Carolina, Furman and South Carolina State).
- Sophomore and returning leading scorer Nelly Perry recorded 19 points, six rebounds, four steals and three assists in the Tigers’ 78-48 exhibition win over St. Thomas on Nov. 8.
- Sophomore Lexi Carter scored 10 points and freshman Aliyah Collier notched nine points and eight rebounds in the Tigers’ win over St. Thomas.
Opponent & Series Notes:
- Friday’s meeting between the Tigers and the Buccaneers will mark the 13th meeting between the two schools. Clemson holds a 12-1 record vs. Charleston Southern in the series.
- Charleston Southern posted a 5-25 (1-19 Big South) record last season under 4th year Head Coach Fred Applin. The Buccaneers were selected to finish eleventh in the Big South by the conference’s coaches and media.
- Sunday’s meeting between Clemson and Coastal Carolina will mark only the third meeting between the two teams.
- The Tigers and the Chanticleers last played on Dec. 29, 2003, a contest in which Clemson won 84-65.
- Coastal Carolina went 12-18 (6-14 Big South) last season under 3rd year Head Coach Jaida Williams. The Chanticleers were picked to finish tenth in the Big South this season by the conference’s coaches and media.
- The Chanticleers return three starters from last season, including sophomore Jas Adams who was a Big South All-Freshman team selection in 2014-15.
