Oliveira And Ulfarsdottir Set To Compete At NCAA Championships

Clemson’s Gisele Oliveira and Silja Ulfarsdottir are set to compete in this year’s NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships to be held in Sacramento, CA, on June 8-11. It will be the fourth NCAA outdoor appearance for Oliveira, a five-time All-American, who won the NCAA Indoor Championship in the triple jump this year. Ulfarsdottir is making her second return trip as an individual, after advancing to the finals of the 400m hurdles in 2004.

Silja Ulfarsdottir will open competition at the 2005 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday, June 9. Ulfarsdottir will compete in round one of the 400m hurdles at 6:10 PM.

On Friday, June 10, Oliveira will take to the triple jump runway at 7:30 PM for the qualifying round of the triple jump. Then, at 9:00 PM, Ulfarsdottir will compete in the semi-final of the intermediate hurdles.

Competition for Oliveira and Ulfarsdottir will conclude on Saturday, June 11, the last day of this year’s national meet. At 6:30 PM, Oliveira will begin competition in the finals of the triple jump. Ulfarsdottir will run for her first individual All-America honor in the 400m hurdles final at 6:55 PM.
