CLEARWATER, Fla. – In a game riddled with errors, the No. 13/12 Clemson Tigers fell to the Auburn Tigers on Saturday afternoon, 10-5, at the Eddie C. Moore Complex. With the loss, Clemson dropped to 3-1, while Auburn improved to 3-1.
Sophomore Marian Collins led the Tigers with two hits, an RBI and scored a run, while senior Jamison Brockenbrough contributed an RBI single.
Auburn claimed the early lead with a two-run homer in the first and made it 3-0 in the top of the second on an RBI single. Clemson got one run back in the bottom of the second off an RBI single from Corri Hicks that plated Mac Pavese after Auburn’s right fielder made an error. Clemson closed the spread to one run in the bottom of the fourth after taking advantage of another Auburn error that had pinch runner Sarah Rocheleau scoring from third.
Auburn went on to outscore Clemson, 7-3, in the final three innings with two in the fifth, one in the sixth and four in the seventh. Clemson plated two runs in the sixth after a fielding error allowed pinch hitter Sarah Breaux to successfully reach while Collins scored, and Brockenbrough brought home Taylor Pipkins on a single to right field before she was caught attempting to head to second. The final run for the Tigers came in the bottom of the seventh when Collins notched an RBI single to score Kiley Channell.
Four Tigers saw time in the circle for Clemson with Abby Dunning getting the start. Dunning pitched 1.1 innings with a single strikeout as she fell to 2-1 on the year. Sierra Maness pitched 4.2 innings with two strikeouts, while Keira Crosby pitched one inning with one strikeout and Macey Cintron made her 2026 pitching debut.
