2024-25 Clemson Basketball Season Media Protocols

The information is intended to help guide your planning for our 2024-25 season.

HOME CREDENTIALS

A link to apply for credentials and parking can be accessed here:

2024-25 CLEMSON BASKETBALL CREDENTIALS

Given the potential fluidity of attendees, no season credentials will be issued in 2024-25. All media members are required to apply for credentials on a game-by-game basis. Please be advised that outlets may be limited to only two writers and one photographer per game. Credential requests for each game will close at 3 p.m. the day prior to the game.

MEN’S BASKETBALL SCHEDULEWOMEN’S BASKETBALL SCHEDULE

Clemson will also offer the option for a virtual credential, which will offer postgame interview access to off-site media members. Priority access will be given to those in attendance and will proceed to questions via Zoom if time permits.

For women’s basketball credentials, please email Austin Christensen (achri22@clemson.edu). Credentialing will be on a single-game basis and must be submitted at least 24 hours prior to the game. The South Carolina home game will be listed on SportsSystems.

Clemson’s philosophy is to include as many outlets as possible in the press section (sec. 232) and therefore presently plans to limit each outlet to just two on-site writers and one photographer. It is the responsibility of the outlet to determine the requested on-site representatives of the organization.

Arrangements for media credentials for Tiger home basketball games must be made through the Clemson Strategic Communications and Publicity office. Requests by accredited media members must be made through the online credentialing system (SportsSystems.com/ClemsonBasketball). Online credential requests for each Clemson home game will be open before the season and will close at 3 p.m. the day before each game.

For more information on credential requests for Littlejohn Coliseum, contact Ben Winterrowd via email at winterr@clemson.edu.

The Clemson University Athletics Media Policy is available at ClemsonTigers.com/MediaPolicy. The policy details credential eligibility and issuance priority for national and local outlets that cover Clemson Basketball or its opponents on a regular basis. All credential approvals are made on a game-by-game basis independent of previous approvals and/or denials, and credential decisions for each contest are not beholden to prior credentialing precedents. Due to space limitations, credential quantities may be limited to a number lower than the total requested.

All credential requests will be filled on a space-available basis. Non-working spouses, dates, relatives, non-workers and anyone 16 years of age or younger are not permitted in the press box.

Media credential holders in the press box who are not actively covering the game, or credential wearers on the baseline who are not on assignment, will be asked to leave those respected areas. Press box or baseline security will be contacted should the credential wearer not comply. Credentials used in unauthorized manner will be revoked immediately, and organizations responsible for credentials falling into improper hands will have credentials revoked for the rest of the year or the succeeding year, at the university’s discretion.

Per the Clemson University Athletics Media Credential Policy formally introduced in 2018, Clemson Athletics may prioritize press level (sec. 232) credential requests for writers using the following criteria, among others:

1. Full-time local beat reporters who cover the team on a daily basis for large-scale local outlets, including newspapers and wire services that cover Clemson Athletics on a regular basis.

2. Large-scale national outlets, including national newspapers, websites and more.

3. University-recognized student publications and student outlets that provide regular coverage of Clemson Athletics.

4. Eligible online-only outlets, with preference given to sites utilizing full-time journalists. Outlets’ affiliations with larger, national networks and the breadth and frequency of their editorial content will also be taken into consideration when prioritizing amongst online-only outlets.

CREDENTIAL PICKUP AND ENTRANCES

There will continue to be two entrances for media on game days.

Credential Pickup: Credentials must be picked up on game day. Credentials will not be available by mail this season.

Writers: All media with press level (sec. 232) access must enter through Southwest Entrance of Burton Gallery.

Television/Photographers/Videographers: All media with court level access must enter through the loading dock entrance to Littlejohn Coliseum (located off of Avenue of Champions).

PARKING

Media who are attending the game and receive credentials are asked to park in Lot 5 (Memorial Stadium) across the street from Littlejohn Coliseum. Your name will be on a list to be able to park. The lot will not be held beginning 30 minutes prior to tipoff. You must request parking when requesting credentials for that game.

PRESS LEVEL OPERATIONS

The press level will open one hour and 30 minutes prior to tipoff. Media credentials for 2024-25 will allow access only to the press level (sec. 232) and postgame press room and do not provide access to the stands, suites, clubs, court (unless you are the designated photographer from your outlet), tunnel or other arena areas. Once a media member has checked in through the Southwest Entrance of Burton Gallery, re-entry will not be permitted to the press level. Set press level closing times will be enforced and will be communicated each week.

Concession vouchers will be provided for media in attendance.

Clemson will not provide printed materials such as game notes or statistics. Such information will be made available online.

PHOTOGRAPHER COURT ACCESS

Each media outlet will be granted one spot on a first-come, first-served basis as it pertains to baseline photography for the 2024-25 men’s basketball season. Outlets should submit their photo credential with their media credentials on a single-game basis this season.

Photographers may enter through the loading dock entrance on the South side of Littlejohn Coliseum.

PHOTO WORK ROOM

A limited number of work spaces are available just off the court in the room behind Clemson’s bench. Clemson will prioritize these locations pursuant to the priority list mentioned above. Additional space will be made available in the press room on an as-needed basis.

POSTGAME

We will continue in-person postgame availability in the Littlejohn Coliseum press room. The press conference will still be available virtually for those not in attendance. The traditional order will be opposing coach/players, Clemson players and lastly Head Coach Brad Brownell.

Zoom links for postgame interviews will be distributed to on-site reporters and virtually credentialed off-site reporters (i.e.: off-site media members who would have been credentialed prior to the game.)

Access to postgame Zoom interviews will be limited to credentialed media, including on-site media in the press room and virtually credentialed off-site media.

WEEKLY PROTOCOLS

All weekday media availability will be conducted in-person when possible and virtually by Zoom, including player and head coach availability. Participation will be limited to outlets that would qualify for credentialed access.
