CLEMSON, S.C. – The No. 14 Clemson Tigers (11-4, 5-2 ACC) are headed out west for the program’s first game against the No. 9 Stanford Cardinal (11-3, 5-2 ACC) on Thursday, April 10th at 6 p.m. at Larid Q. Cagan Stadium. Stanford will be the fourth team in the top-10 that Clemson has faced this season.
LAST TIME OUT
The Tigers pushed the current winning streak to five games after another showcase effort against the Virginia Tech Hokies. The win was Clemson’s fifth in the ACC this season, the most that the program has won in its history and clinched an ACC tournament berth in the process.
Lindsey Marshall recorded six goals against the Hokies, her second six-goal outing of the season. Kayla MacLeod had four goals on the afternoon against Virginia Tech and pushed her season total to 43 goals and 73 in her career. Natalie Shurtleff became the third Clemson player to hit 80 points in their career alongside MacLeod and Hanna Hilcoff and set a new career-high with four assists.
Defensively, five Tigers had multiple caused turnovers with Paris Masaracchia and Bryce Pfundstein having a team-high three. Seven Clemson players picked up multiple ground balls with Summer Agostino and Bridget Babcock leading the way with four on the afternoon.
STANDOUT TIGERS
Marshall has recorded 49 goals this season, a new season total high for the Towson transfer, followed closely by MacLeod with 43. MacLeod is in the top-10 for goals and goals per game in the ACC while Marshall is in the top-five in both categories. In the past five games, Brooke Goldstein has come into her own in the Clemson offense. The freshman has accumulated 21 points during the Tigers’ winning streak to bring her season total to 42 and, along with breaking Shurtleff and Sofia Chepenik’s single-season assist record, has tied Shurtleff’s freshman season point total of 42. Lexi Edmonds and Shurtleff follow MacLeod and Marshall, as the only other players with more than 20 goals, having amassed 29 and 28 goals and have notched 38 and 42 points, respectively.
Agostino has caused a team-high 39 turnovers, the most in a single season for Clemson Lacrosse, the fourth-most caused turnovers nationally and eighth-highest per game average (2.60) in Division 1. Additionally, Agostino has picked up 40 ground balls, the highest total in the ACC and third-best per game mark in the ACC (2.67). During the winning stretch for the Tigers, Emily Lamparter has been a monster in the cage. The goalie has 33 saves for a 60.6% save rate on 78 shots faced.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Aliya Polisky and Ava Aceri lead the way for the Stanford offense with each over thirty goals this season while Martha Oakey and Elise Murphy have at least 20 assists. On defense, Rylee Bouvier has 22 caused turnover for the Cardinal and Olivia Rose leads the team with 39 ground balls. In the draw circle, Dakota Uy and Aceri each have over 40 draw control wins. Â In the cage, Lucy Pearson has been the primary goalkeeper for the Cardinal. The junior has amassed 104 saves on the year for a 46.2% save rate and has allowed 9.06 goals per game. The Stanford program is helmed by head coach Danielle Spencer alongside assistant coaches Grace Gavin Kennedy, Kelsey Howard and Nicole Beardsley.
