Basinger Inks Professional Contract

CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson Softball alum Reese Basinger became the 10th Tiger to join the professional softball ranks after agreeing to terms with the Florida Vibe, a professional fastpitch team based in Bradenton, Florida.

Basinger joins Alex Brown (New York Rise), Valerie Cagle (AU & Dutch Major League Softball), McKenzie Clark (AUSL), Ansley Gilstrap (Florida Vibe), Caroline Jacobsen (AUSL), Alia Logoleo (Chattanooga Steam), Brooke McCubbin (AUSL), Ally Miklesh (Florida Vibe) and Aby Vieira (AUSL) as former Tigers that are currently or have previously competed at the professional level. Basinger spent the 2025 season with the Tigers, where she appeared in the circle in 44 games pitching 178.1 innings. The Evans, Ga., native finished with a 2.94 ERA and led the ACC with 18 victories on the year. She was crowned the first ACC Pitcher of the Year in program history and helped the Tigers to their first ACC Tournament Championship, its third regional championship and first super regional victory. She became the second softball player at Clemson to be crowned the ACC Softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year and was both an ACC First Team selection and NFCA First Team All-Region honoree. She capped the year with three solo shutouts, two saves and 10 complete games.

The Florida Vibe announced its formation in the summer of 2021, with their inaugural season being in the summer of 2022. The schedule features a tour each summer of different states, playing various venues around the country. The State College of Florida has a softball field that serves as the organization’s home venue. The Vibe participate as a member of the Fastpitch United Pro Series for the 2025 season.
