CLEMSON, S.C. – Eight former Tigers played in the major leagues in 2022, including first-year player Chris Okey. MLB veterans Jeremy Beasley, Seth Beer, Steven Duggar, Dominic Leone, Brad Miller, Spencer Strider and Eli White also saw action in the majors in 2022.
Beasley (2017) pitched in his third MLB season in 2022, including his second with the Toronto Blue Jays. He totaled 19 strikeouts and allowed only 14 hits and five walks in 15.0 innings pitched over nine relief appearances in 2022.
Beer (2016-18) played in his second MLB season in 2022 with the Arizona Diamondbacks. On the season, he totaled a homer, three doubles, nine RBIs and 11 walks in 38 games.
Duggar (2013-15) played in his fifth MLB season, as he was with the San Francisco Giants, Texas Rangers and Los Angeles Angels in 2022. He hit amassed three doubles, a triple, four RBIs, five steals and seven runs in 29 games.
Leone (2010-12) pitched in his ninth MLB season and second with the San Francisco Giants in 2022. He had a 4.01 ERA and 52 strikeouts in 49.1 innings pitched over 55 relief appearances.
Miller (2009-11) played in his 10th MLB season and first with the Texas Rangers in 2022. He totaled seven homers, three doubles, 32 RBIs, 20 runs and four steals in 81 games in 2022.

Okey (2014-16) made his MLB debut with the Cincinnati Reds on June 10. He totaled two hits and three runs in seven games.

Strider (2018-20) pitched in his second MLB season with the Atlanta Braves in 2022, but still was considered a rookie. He earned Sporting News National League Rookie-of-the-Year honors and finished second in the voting for the same award presented by MLB. In 2022, Strider had an 11-5 record, a 2.67 ERA, .180 opponents’ batting average and 202 strikeouts against 45 walks in 131.2 innings pitched over 31 appearances (20 starts). The 202 strikeouts are the most by a former Tiger in an MLB season.
