Tigers Top Blazers 20-8 in Scrimmage

CLEMSON, S.C. – Behind 19 hits and five home runs, the Tigers defeated UAB 20-8 in a 14-inning scrimmage at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Saturday.

Clemson scored three runs in the first inning and six runs in the second inning to build a 9-2 lead. Chad Fairey sparked the Tigers with a two-run homer in the first inning and three-run homer in the second inning. Cooper Ingle added a long ball in the first inning, while Bryar Hawkins and Dylan Brewer belted home runs later in the scrimmage.

Fourteen Tigers pitched an inning apiece.

The Tigers play their second and final scrimmage against outside competition on Saturday, Oct. 23 at noon EDT when they travel to Auburn.
