CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson Track & Field/Cross Country head coach Mark Elliott announced the Tigers’ 2017 cross country schedule Thursday. The Tigers will open the 2017 season on Saturday, Sept. 2 at the Carolina Challenge in Columbia, S.C.
“Our schedule provides some quality tests early in the season before we reach the two biggest meets on our schedule, the ACC Championships and Southeast Regionals,” said head coach Mark Elliott. “Our expectation is for both teams to improve and compete with more consistency, as it relates to our standing in cross country.”
On Saturday, Sept. 9, Clemson will head to Greenville, S.C., to compete in the Furman Invitational. The Tigers conclude the month of September in Charlottesville, Va., on Sept. 23 for the annual Virginia/Panorama Farms Invitational.
Clemson will look to take advantage of three weeks of rest after the Virginia/Panorama Farms Invitational as they travel to Louisville, Ky., the site of the 2017 NCAA Cross Country Championships, on Oct. 14 for the Pre Nationals meet. The Tigers return to Louisville, Ky., for the ACC Championships on Friday, Oct. 27.
To conclude the season, the NCAA Southeast Regionals are slated for Nov. 10 back in Charlottesville, Va., with the NCAA Championships just a week later back Louisville, Ky., on Nov. 18.
