2014 Football Parking and Tailgating

2014 Football Parking and Tailgating

This Saturday marks the first opportunity for you and your fellow IPTAY donors to tailgate in the friendly confines of Clemson University.  Tailgating before and after a Clemson home football game is one of the great traditions at Clemson University and we thank you for creating the game day atmosphere that is second to none in collegiate athletics.  If you are an IPTAY member at the Orange level or higher and you purchased at least two season tickets you have been assigned parking from IPTAY’s parking inventory.  Construction projects and increased demand for parking space assignment is the theme for this season and we can’t thank you enough for your flexibility and your understanding of the challenges faced when Clemson University invites tens of thousands to campus each home football Saturday.

Many of the changes you already know about but please review the following before making your way to your tailgate spot for the 2014 season that kicks-off at home this Saturday versus SC State.

-The core campus project is underway which has eliminated parking in lot 12 and on Klugh Ave.  Even if you didn’t park in either of these locations please keep in mind that this area is closed to all pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

– Construction at Freeman Hall has impacted Fernow St parking and traffic flow.  Fernow St will be open to 2-way traffic on game-day but it is a narrow road even with the construction fence pushed back to the sidewalk.

– The renovations at Doug Kingsmore Stadium are underway which has had a small impact on the home plate entrance.  The bathrooms are still open on that side of the stadium but follow the posted signs to avoid the areas under construction.

– The West Library lot and the cul-de-sac at the end of South Palmetto Blvd have been impacted by the continuing work on the Watt Innovation Center (between the library and Strom Thurmond).  The parking at the West Library will be ready for the first game even though the road leading into that lot may still be gravel.  The lot and the street are scheduled to be resurfaced between the first and second home game.

– “The Parking Spot” is now IPTAY Lot 15.  This area is only accessible for a parking pass for “Lot 15”.  This is an area lot for the 2014 season.

-The lot at the intersection of Cherry Rd and Perimeter Rd is now paved and labeled as IPTAY lot 23.  Unfortunately the project has been delayed and the lot won’t be open until the second home game.  Those donors assigned to that lot will be directed to park in other IPTAY lots.  Full details of this adjustment in parking will be sent via email to those assigned a lot 23 pass.

Permanent restrooms are now available before the game at Brackett Hall, the Clemson House, Lee Hall and between Rhodes and Riggs Halls. This is in addition to those located at tennis, baseball, track, coliseum and the student union.
