Quick Facts Clemson improved to 20-3 with its victory over Boston College on Tuesday. It gives Clemson its third 20-win season in a row, the first time in history Clemson has won at least 20 games three consecutive years.
Clemson has a 3-1 ACC road record so far this year. A win in Charlottesville on Sunday would give Clemson four ACC road wins in the same season for the first time since 1996-97. It would also give Clemson two ACC road wins in the same week for the first time since January 11-15, 1997.
Clemson has won seven consecutive games in the state of Virginia, including last year’s 82-51 win at Virginia. Clemson’s last loss in the state took place in Charlottesville as well, a 64-58 loss on Jan. 7, 2006.
K.C. Rivers has averaged 27.7 points per game over his last three games in the state of Virginia. That includes 30-47 field goal shooting, 20-28 from three-point land in that three game period. Rivers had a career high tying 32 points with a Clemson record tying eight three-point goals at Virginia last season.
Raymond Sykes had 12 points and a career high nine rebounds in the win over Boston College. That rebound total included a career high seven offensive rebounds.
Clemson has shot 42.7 percent on three point goals in 10 games away from home this year, compared to 32.8 percent in 13 home games. Clemson has scored at least 85 points in seven games this year, five of them have taken place away from home. That includes ACC road wins over Miami, Virginia Tech and Boston College.
Clemson is 25-3 over the last three years when Trevor Booker scores at least 15 points.
Terrence Oglesby is shooting 44 percent on three point shots away from home this year.
Clemson is 19-1 this year when it wins the points off turnover statistic. The only loss was to Wake Forest.
Clemson has five ACC wins by double digits this year, including the 27-point win over Duke. The Clemson record for double digit ACC wins in a season is six, set last year and in 1997-98.
If Clemson defeats Virginia it would give the Tigers seven wins on the opponent’s home court, the most for the program since 1986-87 team had eight.
Oliver Purnell can tie the Clemson record for career ACC road wins with a win over Virginia. He has 13, one less than the 14 by Cliff Ellis, Bill Foster and Bobby Roberts.
