The Clemson women’s basketball team will travel to Chapel Hill, NC for a Friday night matchup with the University of North Carolina. The Tar Heels (17-3, 5-2) are ranked ninth in the latest Associated Press poll and are sixth according to ESPN/USA Today. The game will be televised live at 7:00 PM by the ACC’s regional sports network, including Fox Sports Net South locally.

Clemson stands at 7-12 overall, having lost each of its last six conference games. The Lady Tigers won their ACC opener 78-65 to N.C. State. Since then, Clemson has yielded 73.1 points per game to its last six ACC opponents. During that same stretch, Clemson is averaging just 60 points per game.

Amanda White, a 6-4 center out of Fountain Inn, SC, is coming off one of her best performances this season. She recorded her second double-double of the season in the loss to Miami, scoring 14 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. She went to the free throw line 13 times, one game after Clemson went just three times as a team versus Georgia Tech. She also grabbed half of her rebounds on the offensive glass.

D’Lesha Lloyd is Clemson’s offensive leader through seven ACC games, averaging 11.7 per contest. She has upped her overall season average to 8.7 points per game, second on the team to Reggie Maddox’s 9.9 average. Lloyd had 14 points in the Miami game last time out.

One of Clemson’s hottest outside shooters of late has been sophomore small forward Carrie Whitehurst. The Duluth, GA native is 6-12 from beyond the three-point line over the last three games. Prior to that, she was just 5-25 on the season from outside.

The Tar Heels enter Friday on a three-game win streak, including a defeat of then #1 Duke on January 24. In fact, North Carolina has defeated three ranked opponents this season. The Tar Heels previously knocked off Connecticut and Villanova earlier this season.

Ivory Latta paces the North Carolina scoring offense with 15.3 points per game. The South Carolina native has hit 50 three-pointers for the Tar Heels. Freshman Erlana Larkins has made a noticeable impact around the league, as she is second on the squad with 15.2 points per game. In addition, she averages 7.1 rebounds per game. The Tar Heels also feature Camille Little, last year’s ACC Rookie of the Year. Little scores 11.9 points per game and is tops on the team with 54 steals.
