Track and Field To Debut New Indoor Facility This Weekend With Clemson Opener

The Clemson track and field teams will debut the new Clemson Indoor Track and Field Facility this weekend with the Clemson Opener. The meet is slated to begin on Friday, Dec. 5, at 5:00 PM with the women’s 20-lb. weight throw. The running events will commence at 5:30 PM with the men’s 60m hurdles trials, followed by the women’s 60m hurdles trials at 6:00 PM. Friday evening’s events will conclude with the women’s distance medley relay at 8:00 PM. On Saturday, Dec. 6, the Clemson Opener will resume at 10:30 AM with the men’s unseeded 3,000m run. Field events will begin at 11:00 AM with the men’s shot put. The men’s and women’s 4x400m relays will wrap up the meet, beginning at 4:35 PM and 4:50 PM, respectively.

Twenty teams will compete in the inaugural event, including teams from the Atlantic Coast Conference, Atlantic Sun Conference, Big East Conference, Big South Conference, Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, Conference USA, Mid-Eastern Conference, Southeastern Conference and Southern Conference.
