Clemson Notes:

  • Clemson returns to the track for fifth time this season for LSU’s annual Alumni Gold meet in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
  • At last weekend’s Gamecock Invitational, the Tigers saw a handful of standout performances, including Marcus Parker who set the nation’s No. 2 time – 20.33 – in the 200m dash. Parker’s time is also good for sixth in program history. Parker was named the ACC Men’s Track Performer of the Week on Wednesday (April 17).
  • Parker (200m) and discus thrower Roje Stona (61.22m/200-10) rank first in the ACC in their respective events.
  • In addition to Parker, LaFranz Campbell posted Clemson’s No. 6 time in the 110mH with a time of 13.62.
  • The Clemson throwers return to action Saturday after not competing at last weekend’s meet in Columbia, South Carolina.
  • Both of Clemson men’s relay teams currently rank in the top-10 nationally. The 4x100m relay (39.59) ranks ninth, while the 4x400m relay (3:05.63) sits at No. 10.
  • The Tiger women are led by Lakeisha Warner (57.86) in the 400mH, which is good for tenth nationally. Rebekah Smith (11.32) in the 100m dash and Kamryn McIntosh (2:05.54) follow behind Warner at 13th and 22nd, respectively.
  • As it currently stands, a total of 27 individual Clemson performances rank the East Region’s top-48, which is also the qualifying standard for the regional meet. All four relays teams are also in good standing for the regional round. This year’s East Prelims will be held in Jacksonville, Florida (May 23-25).
