CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson Women’s Basketball team (11-9, 4-5) defeated the Miami Hurricanes (11-8, 1-7) in a 16-point Tiger comeback, led by Raven Thompson, who achieved her first double-double of the season (17 points, 10 rebounds). This was the Tigers’ second largest deficit overcome since 2013-14 (17 points at Pitt 1/15/23). Clemson was a force defensively, grabbing 26 defensive rebounds this evening.

The Tigers knocked down four threes in the first quarter from four different Tigers – Addie Porter, Mia Moore, Raven Thompson and Hannah Kohn – which boosted Clemson to a one-point advantage over the Hurricanes at the end of the period. Clemson struggled in the middle stretch of the contest, but a 13-3 run capped off by an and-one from Moore with 6:35 left in the third gave the Tigers the boost they needed to finish the job.

In the fourth quarter, the Tigers closed a nine-point gap in just 1:58 to bring the score to a tie with 5:50 to play. The two went back and forth, tying two more times during the contest until Thompson sealed a three-point play and iced two free throws with 0:05 left in regulation. A missed 3-point jumper at the buzzer by the Hurricanes sealed the Tigers’ victory.
