Clemson Notes:

  • Clemson (8-0) defeated Maine 69-61 in its last outing on Dec. 2. The Tigers have had a nine-day break from competition during Clemson University’s fall semester exams.
  • The Tigers are 8-0 for the first time under Audra Smith and the first time since the 1998-99 season. Clemson opened the year 11-0 in 1998-99.
  • As a team, Clemson ranks in the top 25 in the nation in two defensive categories: 15th in field-goal percentage defense (33.3), and 25th in scoring defense (54.1).
  • Junior Nelly Perry leads Clemson in scoring with a 13.8 points per game average and also ranks first on the team in assists, with 32, and minutes played, averaging 31.8 per game.
  • Sophomore Aliyah Collier is second on the team in scoring (11.1 ppg) and leads the Tigers in rebounding, with a 7.9 per game average.
  • Sophomore Danielle Edwards is also averaging double-figures in scoring, with 10.0 points per game.
  • Edwards has 29 steals on the season. Her 3.63 steals per game average ranks 12th in the nation, while the 29 steals puts her in 16th nationally. Edwards is second in the ACC in both categories.
  • Junior Alexis Carter is from Portland, Ore. Carter has started all eight games for the Tigers this season, and is averaging 8.8 points per game and 3.4 rebounds per game. 
  • Current Graduate Manager Katie Gruys played basketball at Oregon from 2012-16.

Series Information:

  • Clemson and Oregon have met just once previously, last season on Nov. 24, 2015 in Eugene, Ore. The Ducks won that contest 69-56. Edwards scored her career-high 23 points in the game at Oregon.
