CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Clemson Tigers (17-3, 6-2) dropped a 4-2 match to the Miami Hurricanes (11-6, 4-4) on Sunday afternoon in Coral Gables.
The Tigers were quick to secure a win in doubles as the No. 31 duo of Noa Vukadin and Max Smith downed Miami’s Martin Katz and Antonio Prat 6-1 on court one. However, the Hurricanes responded with two doubles victories on court two and three to take the doubles point and the 1-0 lead.
In singles, Smith was first to record a point for Clemson as he secured a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Jules Garot for his X singles win of the spring season. Securing the second and final point for the Tigers was Romain Gales as he tabbed a 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 win over Miami’s Leonardo Dal Boni.
The Tigers continued to battle but Miami was able to come away with three singles wins on courts four, two and one to secure the 4-2 victory over Clemson.
