CLEMSON, SC – Clemson sophomores Corbin Mills, Crawford Reeves and Brewer Bradshaw all recorded top 16 finishes at major amateur golf tournaments over the weekend. They all contributed to Clemson’s top 16 finish nationally this past season.
Mills shot a one-over-par 289 score to finish tied for 12th at the Players Amateur Golf tournament at Belfair Golf Club in Bluffton, SC on Sunday. It was the second top 15 finish in a major amateur tournament this summer for Mills.
The native of Easley, SC had rounds of 72-70-74-73 on the par 72 course located nearly Hilton Head, SC. The tournament features nearly 80 of the top amateur golfers in the nation. Richy Werenski, a freshman at Georgia Tech, won the event with a 283 score.
Earlier this summer Mills finished 15th at the Monroe Invitational in Pittsford, NY. He was a starter on Clemson’s 16th ranked golf team this past year. He was named to the Ping All-District team and helped the Tigers to a second place finish at the NCAA Southeast Regional.
Also on Sunday, Brewer Bradshaw finished 16th at the Carolinas Amateur at Pinehurst, NC. That tournament was played on Pinehurst #8, a par 71 course at the famous golf resort.
The native of Columbia who will be a red-shirt sophomore on the Clemson team next year, had rounds of 68-70-74-73 in finishing with a 285 score, one over par. Earlier this summer, Bradshaw finished in the runner-up position at the South Carolina Match Play Championship and was 22nd at the Rice Planters.
Reeves finished fifth at the Eastern Amateur in Portsmouth, VA on Sunday. He had scores of 67-68-70-66 for a nine under par score of 271.
