Overview:  Freshman who comes to Clemson with more international team competition than any golfer in Clemson history….has represented the United States on the 2023 Junior Ryder Cup team (Italy) the 2024 Junior Presidents Cup Team (Canada) and the Toyota Cup Team in Japan… also represented the East on the Wyndham Cup Team….already a veteran of a PGA Tour event, he made the cut and finished tied for 54th at the Myrtle Beach Classic at the Dunes Club…had consistent rounds of 69-70-72-71 for a two under par 282 total…had significant win at The 2024  Ping Invitational, second-place at Jr. PGA, third-place at the Ralph Lauren Junior Classic….had six top 10 finishes at AJGA events over the last two years…ranked fifth among all juniors and second in the class of 2025….first-team AJGA All-American in 2024 and honorable mention in 2023 and 2022.

Prior to Clemson:    Finished first at The PING Invitational in October 2024 shooting a seven-under-par 209 (69-71-69)…..it was his sixth top 10 finish since November 2023….a member of the East Wyndham Cup Team and President’s Cup Team in 2024….. earned one of 12 spots on the U.S. Junior Ryder Cup team that competed against the European Team in September 2023….secured that spot with a runner-up finish at the 2023 Junior PGA Championship…. the 2022 Georgia Class 3A-4A Individual State Champion and won the 2021 Matt NeSmith Junior Championship….finished 11th at the Junior Players Championship in 2024…also played in the 2025 Western Amateur…finished 25th at the Northeast Amateur and second at the Junior Invitational…also seventh at the Terra Cotta Invitational….had a 1-1-1 record at the Junior President’s Cup, he won his singles match 4&3.

Personal:   Son of former Clemson All-American (1997-2000) and five-time PGA Tour winner Jonathan Byrd…Clemson coach Jordan Byrd is his uncle….his grandfather, Jim Byrd, played football at North Carolina 1963-65…signed with Clemson in November of 2024.
