Was primarily a matchup lefthander out of the bullpen in the 2023 season, then suffered an injury in the fall that forced him out of action in 2024.

2024: Redshirted … suffered a leg injury and missed the season.

2023: All-ACC Academic selection … ACC Academic Honor Roll member … had a 2-2 record and 4.02 ERA in 17 relief appearances … in 15.2 innings pitched, he allowed 18 hits (.286 opponents’ batting average) and six walks with 20 strikeouts … pitched 0.2 innings in relief, allowing no runs and no walks with one strikeout to earn the win against Charlotte on Feb. 21; was his first career appearance … scored a run as a pinch-runner on Billy Amick’s walkoff grand slam against Georgia State on March 10 … pitched 1.1 perfect innings in relief with two strikeouts against No. 2 Wake Forest on March 30 … pitched 1.2 innings in relief, allowing one hit, no runs and no walks with one strikeout at Georgia on April 11 … pitched 1.2 innings in relief, allowing one hit, no runs and no walks to earn the win against Virginia Tech in the ACC Tournament on May 24.

Before Clemson: Played two seasons at Spartanburg Methodist College, where he was 5-3 with one save, a 3.43 ERA and 112 strikeouts in 76.0 innings pitched over 23 appearances (11 starts) in 2021 and 2022 under Head Coach Tim Wallace … all-region as a sophomore and junior at Woodruff High School … member of the district champions as a sophomore … lettered three times in baseball and two times in football at Woodruff High School, where he was coached by Grant Ramsey.

Personal: His grandfather, Charlie Phillips, played baseball at Carson-Newman … graduated May 9, 2024 with a degree in communication … born Stephen Brian Bailey Jr. on Aug. 11, 2001 in Spartanburg, S.C.
