Smith Named ACC Freshman of the Week

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Atlantic Coast Conference named Clemson’s Kimeka Smith the ACC Freshman of the Week late Tuesday afternoon for her shot put performance at the Clemson Opener.

Smith won the women’s shot put with a throw of 15.06m / 49’–05.00” which placed her seventh on Clemson’s All-Time Performances list and set a new freshman record for the event. Smith tore down the highly decorated, 2011 Clemson Hall of Famer Jamine Moton’s freshman record of 15.01m / 49’–03.00”, which had been standing since 1998.
