Six Tigers Named to All-ACC Academic Team

CLEMSON, S.C. – Six Tigers have been named to the ACC All-Academic Team, the conference announced Thursday afternoon. 

Megan Bornkamp, majoring in Management, is named to the ACC All-Academic Team for the second straight season. Bornkamp played and started in all 20 matches for the Tigers and was the backbone of the Tiger’s defense, while also leading the charge with a team-high 30 points. She was named a two-time United Soccer Coaches All American, First Team All-ACC, United Soccer Coaches First Team All-Atlantic Region, ACC All-Tournament Team, CoSIDA Academic All-District Team and Preseason All-ACC Team. 

Caroline Conti, a junior Sports Communication major, earns the honor for the second time in her career after playing in 19 matches and starting 18 of them. Conti was fourth on the team in points with 18 while leading the way against Boston College and Notre Dame, garnering United Soccer Coaches National Player of the Week, ACC Offensive Player of the Week and Top Drawer Team of the Week honors. 

Senior Renee Guion, a Graphic Communications major, earns the honor for the third time in her career. Guion played and started in all 20 matches for the Tigers, tallying a career-high 13 assists which ultimately tied the program record for most assists in a single season. She was honored for her efforts with her first conference award, being named Third Team All ACC. 

Senior Sports Communication major and goalkeeper Hensley Hancuff was named to the team for the second time in her career. Hancuff started in the back of the net 17 times for the Tigers and registered 36 saves on the season. She was named Third Team All ACC and was recently drafted 34th overall by NJ/NY Gotham FC in the 2022 NWSL Draft. 

Junior Hal Hershfelt, a Psychology major, makes the team for the second time in her career after playing and starting in all 20 matches. She registered a career-high 17 points while also leading the charge from the midfield. Hershfelt was named Second Team All ACC and United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-Atlantic Region. 

Freshman Renee Lyles, a Health Science major, made the team after her first season with the Tigers. Lyles played and started in 19 matches and was third on the team in points with 19. She was rewarded for her efforts by being named to the ACC All Freshman Team.
