CLEMSON, S.C. – Friday, Clemson men’s tennis (4-8, 0-2 ACC) travels to the Bluegrass State for the eighth leg of a nine-match road trip to face the Louisville Cardinals (12-4, 2-0 ACC). The Tigers are looking to get back on track after losses against No. 3 Wake Forest and No. 23 NC State last weekend. Friday’s match will be available on Statbroadcast.

Friday’s match will mark the 17th meeting between Clemson and Louisville, a series where the Cardinals hold a 12-4 advantage. The Cardinals won the first three matchups of the series from 1998-2012. In 2013, the Tigers picked up their first win against Louisville in a 4-0 sweep. The most recent matchup came on Feb. 28, 2025, when the Tigers swept the Cardinals, 4-0 at Duckworth. A win would be Clemson’s first victory at Louisville since 2016.

LAST TIME OUT

Last weekend, Clemson traveled to North Carolina to face a pair of ACC opponents. On Friday, the Tigers were in Winston-Salem, N.C. where they fell to No. 3 Wake Forest, 4-0. On Sunday, the team made the short trek to Raleigh, N.C. for a matchup against No. 23 NC State. The Wolfpack kicked the match off by earning the doubles point. Matisse Farzam opened singles play with a victory to even the score before two more NC State wins gave the Pack a 3-1 lead. The Tigers battled back with two-set victories by Marko Mesarovic and No. 64 Viktor Markov before Noa Vukadin fell in three sets to No. 15 Martin Borisiouk and the Tigers dropped a tight one, 4-3.

After facing two top 25 opponents last weekend, the Tigers have now played nine games against teams ranked in the top 25 and four against top 10 opponents.
