CLEMSON, S.C. – No. 28 Clemson men’s tennis (3-5) will head to Orlando, Fla. to face No. 8 University of Central Florida (9-2) in a 6 p.m. match on Friday.
Clemson is 3-0 against UCF all-time, having played in 2007, 2009 and 2010. The first two matchups were at neutral sites with 6-1 and 4-3 wins. The third matchup took place in Clemson, S.C. when the Tigers won 5-2.
SEASON REVIEW
Clemson dropped its home-opener against (now No. 5) Louisiana State University, 4-3. Clemson then rallied to beat No. 14 South Carolina in the ITA Kickoff Weekend semifinals, 4-2. The Tigers won the ITA Kickoff Weekend after defeating Harvard in a 4-1 victory to secure a spot in the ITA National Indoor Championships. Following the highs of winning ITA Kickoff Weekend, Clemson would go 1-1 in the next two games, falling 5-2 against (now No. 30) Auburn and taking a 5-2 victory over (now No. 45) Charlotte. In the opening round of the ITA National Indoor Championships, Clemson fell 4-0 against No. 1 Virginia. The Tigers would then come up short, 4-3, in back-to-back matches against (now No. 15) Florida and (now No. 11) Arizona State.
