The Clemson men’s track & field team will travel to Blacksburg, VA this weekend to compete in the Virginia Tech Invitational at Rector Field House. This meet will mark the second of the indoor season for the Lady Tigers and first since the Clemson Opener on December 2-3.
The event gets underway Friday, January 13 at 5:00 PM with the men’s triple jump. Competing in that event will be Jason Bell, who ranks third on the Tigers’ all-time indoor list in the triple jump. Bell will also run the 60m dash and compete in the long jump for Clemson. The rest of the 60m dash field from Clemson will include Ryan Koontz, and Rashad Gardner, Lydell Perry, Feathers, and Koontz will participate. Gardner will also participate in the 400m and 4x400m relay, while Perry will also run in the 1600m relay. Corey Brown and Cowin Mills will make up the other two spots in the relay team.
In the 200m, Brown and Padgett will be running for the Tigers. Gardner and Mills will compete in the 400m dash, while Brian Knapp and Itay Magidi leads six Tigers in the 3000m, including Greg Isaacs, Clay Pendleton, Sean Reilly, Eric Soder. Magidi will also compete in the 5000m.
Adam Linkenauger, four-time ACC champion, will represent the Tigers in the high jump competition Saturday. Andrew Kessler, and Kenny Knox. In the long jump, the Tigers will field four entrants in Bell, Feathers, Fields, and Koontz.
Saturday’s events get underway at 12:00 PM, beginning with the long jump.
