Men’s Track & Field Heads to Three Different Meets This Weekend

Clemson, SC – The men’s track & field team will travel to three different locations this weekend. Clemson will have one representative, Matt Clark, at the Stanford Invitational. The Tigers will also take select student-athletes to the Western Carolina campus in Cullowhee, NC and to the Georgia Tech campus in Atlanta, GA.

Clark, a two-time All-ACC indoor performer this season, will make his outdoor debut this weekend in Stanford by running the 5000m.

The Tiger sprinters and distance runners will be in the Yellow Jacket Invitational on Saturday. Travis Padgett headlines this group, and he will be running the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay. Clemson will also have a group running the 4x400m relay Saturday. Clemson will also have a pair of intermediate hurdlers entered.

The field event and multi-event athletes will head to Cullowhee, NC for Saturday’s Western Carolina Invitational. Matt Feiling in the hammer. Feiling will also compete in the shot put and javelin throw.

George Fields, the ACC Champion in the indoor long jump, will compete Saturday and look to qualify for the East Region Championships. All-ACC pole vaulter Mitch Greeley headlines a group of four in that event as well. Chris Spear, the Tigers’ top outdoor performer in that event through two meets, will also vault this weekend.

Multi-event All-American Ryan Koontz is scheduled for the 100m dash and pole vault competitions. He also will lead a group in the 4x400m relay.
