Lady Tigers to Play Georgia Tech on Senior Day

The Clemson women’s basketball team will play host to Georgia Tech Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the Lady Tigers’ last home game of the season. Clemson will enter the contest with a 13-11 record overall, and a 5-8 mark in the ACC. Clemson is led in scoring by Chrissy Floyd with a 17.2 ppg. average. Amanda White leads the team in rebounding with a 6.4 rpg. mark. Floyd is currently in second place on Clemson’s career scoring list with 1,844 points.

Ga. Tech has a 16-9 record overall and a 5-8 mark in the ACC. Sonja Mallory leads the Yellow Jackets in scoring (16.9 ppg.), and rebounding (9.4 rpg.). Georgia Tech defeated Clemson earlier this season 89-78 in overtime in Atlanta, GA on January 23. This will be the 49th meeting between Clemson and Ga. Tech on the basketball court. It will also be the last home game for four Lady Tigers seniors. This year’s senior class includes: Tia Andrew, Floyd, Leah Roper, and Tabitha Vasilas.

The Clemson Lady Tiger basketball team along with the Clemson University Graduate School and the Graduate Student Government are promoting children’s literacy during the month of February.

The focus of this project is to provide books for children in Head Start to the sixth grade. The Clemson Lady Tigers are asking that fans bring one or more children’s books (new or used) to the women’s basketball game on Sunday, February 23, vs. Georgia Tech at 2:00 p.m. Anyone bringing a book will have free admission to the game for themselves and up to three family members. Books will be collected at the gates. The books that are donated will be given to local community agencies and schools.
