Lady Tigers Place Third in Furman Cross Country Invitational

Greenville, SC – The Clemson women’s cross country team finished third out of 24 teams at the Furman Invitational on Saturday. Campbell won the team title with 65 points and Eastern Kentucky placed second with 82 points. The Lady Tigers finished third with 102 points, ahead of North Florida (137) and host school Furman (153).

Jennifer Barton once again led the Lady Tigers with her third top 10 finish in four events so far this season. She completed the 5K course in 19:31.51 and placed eighth. Patrice McMillan (19:44.05) and Casey Phillips (19:44.81) finished 14th and 15th for Clemson, respectively.

A pair of freshmen, Ashley Robinson and Elizabeth Embler, completed the scoring for Clemson on Saturday. Robinson placed 35th overall with a time of 20:27.10, while Embler finished 39th in 20:34.26.

The Lady Tigers return to action next Saturday, October 15 to play host to the Clemson Classic.
